Welcome to the International Population Center at San Diego State University.

About Us

The International Population Center (IPC) was organized in 1985 to promote applied demographic research and to provide demographic technical assistance and consulting, focusing initially on population issues along the U.S.-Mexico Border, but more recently expanding the geographic focus to the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa, with an analytical focus on spatial analysis of demographic trends. IPC is a “virtual” center drawing as needed upon the physical resources of the Department of Geography (especially CESAR) and upon faculty associates elsewhere at San Diego State University and at other collaborating institutions.
